At the beginning of 2010, a few months before the Soccer World Cup took place in South Africa, 'Love Equals Football' began appearing on surfaces around the Rosebank and Parkhurst suburbs in Johannesburg.
The sign on Jan Smuts Avenue and the ones in Seventh were washed away by the rain. The chalkings along the bus shelter in Tyrwhitt Avenue were painted over (by the municipality?) and then drawn back on again. This happened several times. The chalk board on Fourteenth Street was recently updated ('Fourteenth Street 02').
