Thank You Bags (2010) is an edition orf 100 hand-signed and screen printed plastic shopping bags. This object engulfed my attention for several weeks last winter. As I attempted to discover my fetish for this object and the meaning behind mechanical reproduction, I ultimately decided I needed to recreate it by hand. This process taught me valuable lessons about silk screening and organizing large-scale projects. The bags were skewered into the wall, and presented, as they would be found in a grocery store. The Project served as question of reproduction, everyday human sentiments, and garbage.
The other works - painting of emoticons - are acrylic on canvas.
