Rituals Interrupted is a body of work which was made when I stayed with my parents for a prolonged period of time after not having lived with them for a number of years. My parents had grown older and my relationship with them had changed - they were now an ageing couple living on their own after all their children had left the family home. I began to notice their daily rituals that my presence in their house seemed to disturb and interrupt. Our communication was frequently via 'post-it' notes which I began to collect, and later photograph, along with aspects of their daily routines to produce Rituals Interrupted.

I loved this Muireann. The tenderness and the humour. Laughed out loud at the last note. Thank you.Report
