These images were taken across the United States in 2008. They are part of a multimedia project documenting marginal art networks in the country. The people documented prove that it is possible to live in communal spaces, inspire each other and collaborate with each other without falling into the mainstream. Their idea of success is one in which exchange is privileged over consumerism and interdependence over independence. They are people of multiple and marginalised identities who live and work together in order to make change.
