Knot (what? why? and for whom?) e.09 Infinity
(what? why? and for whom?) knot explores the poetics of gesture, the contingencies of working together, and the space created between disparate experiences - such as ritual and improvised interaction; connection and rupture; empathy and control; the idiosyncratic and the 'everyday' gesture; interdependency and the illusion of separation; and intimate experience in public space. The hands continuously move back and forth, across a stage - much like a musical 'Fugue' - stating, restating, and often inverting a gesture. They meet on the stage without a script and only partial control over the narrative - requiring surrender and trust. Interdependent - they initiate, anticipate, and collaborate. Sonically, the high frequency immersive field of insect sound suggests a state of continuous communion and labor.
